ABOUT

Sun Kim

Technologist, entrepreneur, author, and lifelong learner based in New York

I studied Electronics at a university in South Korea and later pursued graduate studies in Computer Science. My professional journey began in technology research and continued across telecommunications, information systems, international business, entrepreneurship, and management.

I worked as a researcher at Samsung, a manager at DACOM—now part of LG U+—and a senior manager at POSDATA. In 1991, while serving as DACOM's Overseas Business Manager, I participated in an advisory role concerning science and technology policy for the Republic of Costa Rica.

I later founded and operated a technology start-up in South Korea for approximately ten years. That experience taught me that innovation requires more than technical knowledge: it also demands perseverance, judgment, responsibility, and the courage to begin without certainty.

In 2004, I moved to the United States. Since then, I have worked in positions including IT Manager and Sales Manager, adapting my experience to a new country and a new professional environment. I became a United States citizen in 2018 and now live in New York.

I am also the author of Computer Beginner's Workbook
(ISBN 978-0-9915874-0-7).

Today, my interests extend across investing, technology, economics, classical and popular music, poetry, photography, essays, faith, and practical questions of everyday life. This website is a place to organize those interests, preserve what I continue to learn, and share ideas that may be useful to others.

Values

I value individual freedom joined with personal responsibility, limited government, the Protestant Christian faith, and the pioneer spirit—the willingness to explore, build, adapt, and begin again.

MY PILGRIMAGE

I look for how God's will has taken shape upon this earth.

I have sought to observe whether the creatures of this world recognize, appreciate, and fully enjoy the blessings given to them—and whether there is anything that should be created, revised, or set aside.

I prefer to examine life from nearby. Yet I also accept that, at times, stepping farther away allows the eyes and mind to become clearer.

When the day comes to return to heaven, the experiences of my pilgrimage will be submitted to God without remainder.
