Brief AI Commentary
Written in 1848, the Radetzky March combines military rhythm with the sociable energy of Viennese public music. Its contrasting trio softens the martial profile before the opening returns.
The Vienna New Year tradition turns the audience’s clapping into part of the performance. Mehta guides that participation while preserving the orchestra’s flexible phrasing and ceremonial sparkle.
